Capsicum Records Debuts with "Reggae-in-Fusion Album #1"

Capsicum Records LLC, a new independent, internet-driven recorded music company, announced today its inaugural release, Reggae-In-Fusion Album #1, a compilation album featuring original songs performed by seven talented artists - “Sledge” (Courtney Whyte), Bernard “Burnie T” Terrell, Jr, Ardiwa “Cuban Cohiba” Wallace, Sal Anthony, Camille “Misteree” Tomlinson-Ismail, Mayyah Stuart and Natasha Redding.

The creative principals of Capsicum include Roger Meltzer, label CEO/A&R Director and songwriter-producer-arranger; Osborne "Ifield" Joseph, Executive Producer, studio engineer, musician/songwriter/arranger, and Music Director of label concert;  Sal Anthony, artist-songwriter, musician-producer-arranger and Promotion and Marketing VP.

“At Capsicum, it’s about the song, and then matching each song to a promising artist.” says label CEO, A&R Director and songwriter-producer-arranger Roger Meltzer.   “We believe that by writing “hooky,” melodic songs with something to say, putting infectious, “rootsy,” reggae grooves under them, and then coloring them with the traditional (“old school”) feel, instruments, musical licks and vocal flavors of other genres, our records will appeal to the crossover fan-base of those markets as well as to reggae lovers.  Our audience and market will therefore span a very wide global demographic, from students to baby boomers, multiple ethnic groups and music preferences.”

Searching for Concert Sponsors

In addition to radio airplay, the label's new sound has generated invitations from promoters to perform a special one-hour Capsicum segment, pending corporate sponshorship, in the following five major concerts this summer featuring widely renowned artists from many musical genres.

--  The Brooklyn Music Festival at Floyd Bennett Aviator Sports and Recreation Field in Brooklyn, Sunday, June 21
--  38th Annual Roots Rock & Reggae Festival at the Ski & Racquet Club in Westbury CT, June 28
--  A Moment in Time benefit concert at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Gilman Opera House, Friday, July 17
--  The New England Music Festival at Bushnell Park in Hartford, CT, Saturday, August 1
--  The Irie Jamboree at Roy Williams Park in Queens NY, Sunday, September 6.

Capsicum welcomes the Sheraton Hartford as a sponsor of the New England Music Festival concert, and is actively seeking additional major corporate sponsors.  The Capsicum segment will feature the Capsicum-Paco All-Star "Emergency" Band and members of the label's artist roster.

The label has also launched its official website, www.capsicumrecords.com, and invites you to visit to hear plays from the debut album and get a free download of the biweekly featured song.  You can also get more information about the artists, the songs and concerts, submit fanmail and contact the label on matters of business and music.
