SHALLI BURCHELL's "Only You Are Worthy" Sustains Capsicum Win Streak on Roots 96.1 "What's The Verdict?"

"Only You Are Worthy", the first of two hot new singles released on Capsicum Records LLC by solo artist Shalli Burchell of the Grace Thrillers, beat out the competition on the popular "What's The Verdict?" Saturday night voter call-in program, hosted by Roots 96.1-FM deejay Dudley Thompson in Kingston, Jamaica. The song, a fusion of gospel and one-drop, is available for a limited time as the free download in the Featured Song box on the label's website www.capsicumrecords.com.

This marks Capsicum's fifth consecutive win on Verdict, including Sal Anthony ("Exactly"), Sledge ("Find Out Who Your Friends Are"), Mayyah Stuart ("Life's Too Short"), and Misteree ("Just As I Am"). All of these songs were released on Capsicum's inaugural compilation CD, "Reggae-In-Fusion Album #1", and can also be heard and purchased on the website.

Capsicum label CEO and Director of A&R Roger Meltzer expressed delight in the continuity of successes. "It is as much a tribute to DJ Dudley's knowledge of what his listening audience will enjoy as it is the quality of our writing, production and artist performances. I am so grateful he thinks highly enough of our product to enter us into these highly entertaining and suspenseful shows," said Meltzer.

For the past six years, Shalli has been a member of Jamaica’s world-renowned renowned GraceThrillers Gospel Choir. This group has performed with some of gospel music's elite, including the Hawkins Family, the Commissions, the Richard Smallwood Singers, Candi Staton, Shirley Caesar, Jesse Dixon and the Williams Brothers. The Grace Thrillers are as vibrant and popular as ever, and have recently put out their latest album, "A New Dawn", featuring their current membership - CEO and founder Noel Willis, Noel Willis Jr., Alrick O' Connor, Mary Lewis, Natalie Foster, Cadian Brown, Althea Hemmings, Larry Snow (overseas member), and Shalli Burchell.

“While Shalli remains an active member of the Grace Thrillers choir," explained Meltzer, "she’s also beginning a career as a solo recording artist. Her repertoire on Capsicum will also expand beyond the gospel genre familiar to world-wide fans of the group,” explained Meltzer. "We also believe 'Get Up And Dance,' a fusion of dancehall, soca and salsa - is destined to become the party record of the year!
